U.S. Green Bank 50 (GB 50) Joins JCF’s Partnership Network

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 12, 2025 — The Justice Climate Fund has launched a new partnership with U.S. Green Bank 50 (GB 50), a member-led organization of more than 50 Green Banks across the country focused on advancing clean energy projects in under-resourced communities.

GB 50 will support JCF’s work in mobilizing capital, resources, partnerships, and expertise to meet growing market demand and deliver clean energy and climate solutions in communities that have historically been excluded from the clean energy economy

“We are grateful to have GB 50 as part of our network,” said JCF Chief Executive Officer Amir Kirkwood. “This partnership is grounded in a shared mission of delivering clean energy projects that build energy independence, support cleaner air and water, and create healthier, more resilient communities across the country. Together, we’ll unlock opportunities and resources in communities that have too often been left behind.”

“Families are facing record-high utility bills this summer, and the pain is greatest in low-income and disadvantaged neighborhoods that already spend a disproportionate share of their income on energy. This partnership with the Justice Climate Fund and the GB 50 will help put affordable, reliable, and clean power within reach for the households that need relief the most.” said Kirsten Stasio, CEO, Nevada Clean Energy Fund and Interim Executive Director of the GB 50. The Nevada Clean Energy Fund leads the GB 50’s participation in the partnership.

Under JCF’s leadership, GB 50 will expand and accelerate technical assistance and capacity-building programs, including developing climate financing products and materials, standardized lending and portfolio management tools, and shared learning resources for JCF’s network of more than 400 community lenders and state and local stakeholders. JCF and GB 50 will also collaborate on climate financing strategies and expand JCF’s clean energy and climate project pipeline in historically under-resourced communities nationwide.
