The Justice Climate Fund (JCF) has received a grant from The Kresge Foundation in support of its work to mobilize capital and resources to fund climate and clean energy solutions in under-resourced communities across the country. The grant provides catalytic funding for JCF’s new investment fund framework, including programs in the West, Midwest and Southeast.
“We are grateful and honored to have the support of The Kresge Foundation,” said JCF’s Chief Executive Officer Amir Kirkwood. “We believe in the power of partnerships, and having support from mission-aligned investors like Kresge will help us deliver climate and clean energy solutions where they’re needed most.”
JCF’s grant is funded through Kresge’s Social Investment Practice (SIP), which is designed to address the financial barriers that confront communities of color and other underserved communities.
“We are proud to provide support to JFC as they mobilize investments for projects that build energy independence and create healthier communities,” said Aaron Seybert, Managing Director of the Social Investment Practice at The Kresge Foundation. “We share a commitment to giving all communities in the U.S. equal access to the financial tools they need to build infrastructure resilience in the face of the growing impacts of climate change, and to secure a safe, vibrant future.”
