Climate Week NYC 2026: “Designed to Last: Building the Infrastructure Behind Clean Energy Capital”

Justice Climate Fund’s session at Climate Week NYC brought together community finance leaders, mission-driven funders and investors, and partners in climate and clean energy to examine how flexible financing, catalytic capital, and strategic partnerships can accelerate community-led clean energy projects in under-resourced communities across the country.

JCF CEO Amir Kirkwood was joined by Hive Fund for Climate and Gender Justice CEO Melanie Allen; African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs President and CEO Amber Banks; and U.S. Green Bank 50 Executive Director Dan Adler for an insightful conversation about what it takes to unlock more climate and clean energy projects.

They explored key financing tools JCF and its partners have developed to address funding gaps and move climate and clean energy solutions forward, including catalytic capital, credit enhancements, syndication, technical assistance, and shared underwriting.
